Simplify your life because “Life Happens” when you are busy making other plans

Our perceived experiences with life are generally not positive. We pay more attention on what life failed to offer us rather than what we have been blessed with. You can’t do or have things you never worked for. The universal application of the law of cause and effect is for all to see. Life happens with a cause and there in fact are no surprises.

You chance to do well occasionally but it doesn’t last because it was just a reminder from life; a wake-up call so to say. Some call it a booster dose. I feel a failure is also similar. It’s life asking you to realign your priorities and move ahead. Refocus on what matters most.

Let us be practical here. It’s not easy to simplify your life. It needs a total mindful review of your lifestyle and is worthwhile provided you are ready to refocus on what’s important to you. It’s about finding simpler ways to do the things that you have to do and giving yourself more options to do the things you want to do. Here are some simpler ways to simplify life:

  1. Feel Free. It’s your choice whether to keep up with an environment of constant pressures and ever-increasing competition or choose your own path instead.

  2. Minimize Confusion. Less stuff in your mind means you have less to manage, think about, and do. The world doesn’t need to be carried on your shoulders.

  3. Be Flexible. Cater for greater flexibility if “life happens” and you need to react.

  4. Automate. Automate in its entirety what possibly can be automated: bill-paying, reminders, paperwork, checklists, and other administrative trivia.

  5. Reduce Stress. Put in a conscious effort to look after yourself and reduce potential stressors.

  6. Manage your Time. Time management is to get more work done with less stress in the time available. And the real secret behind this is that you need to maximize your energy.

  7. Not-to-Do List. Few things can always wait. Put fewer demands on your time and cater for personal time to do with as you choose.

  8. Path of Least Resistance Take the path of least resistance: there is always an easier, and probably better, way — why force things, or yourself?

  9. Change Perception by Changing Beliefs. Stay positivein difficult times. A change in perception changes the perspective.

  10. Stay Healthy. Take care of your health. You already know this, but following will be of help:

  11. Getting enough sleep

  12. Minimizing alcohol

  13. Minimizing caffeine

  14. Eating more whole foods and fewer processed foods

  15. Maintaining a healthy weight

  16. Drinking a lot of water

  17. Exercising daily
