Play Your Role with Grace

Our only role in this world is to be mindful at all times. Consciously do things to bring yourself into the moment. If you’re with someone and not paying attention, stop and focus on that person and be with them fully. Start to eliminate background clutter and memories until it’s just you and them.

It seems difficult in the beginning since we keep receiving stimuli through our senses. These stimuli can be minimized by shutting down other senses so you begin to focus on one thing. Close your eyes for a minute and focus on a single noise or cover your ears and look at a single object. The flow of thoughts can be dealt with in a similar manner by mindful breathing.

We all know how important our health is. Our attitude to our health is more important than we think. Negative emotions and states of mind cause the vital force in the body to get depleted. If we want to believe that we are healthy and strong, a part of our brain called the hypothalamus sends these positive signals to our body cells. The cells then obey these messages.

The above understanding is of immense help in maintaining good health by keeping sickness at an arm’s length. Our body strives for an overall balance and good health which is our natural state. Thinking of certain actions in the past which proved detrimental to good health serves no purpose. The point to note here is that we are concentrating on good health “NOW” rather than any sickness.

Keep things simple by being aware of your environment at all times. Mindfulness leads to agility and flexibility and helps to keep your emotions under check. You remain in balance in the present; undivided into the past or future. Avoid what agitates you by preemptive action and not by being defensive. Perceiving the mental state of others and modifying your consciousness to accommodate them is the right approach in dealing with persons and situations. Inculcating a sense of belongingness does wonders towards ensuring the right attitude.
