Make Time for Your Relationship


As a couple spending time together strengthens your relationship. It’s important to find time and space often to talk about the health and joy of your relationship. A healthy relationship requires that you talk regularly with each other to work through problems, discuss your relationship goals, and find ways to strengthen your relationship. Take timeout to ask yourself:

  1. Have you taken time to think about how you would like to be together as part of your daily life?

  2. Do you get up and run to start your day, or do you have breakfast together? Do you have time to talk on the phone during the day?

  3. Even if you’re busy, do you take time in the evening to recount and share your thoughts about your day?

  4. How do you both get your needs met so you don’t feel like you’re giving up on something important?

Brainstorm ways to deal with these specific differences so that it’s a win-win for both of you. To truly enjoy quality time together, you need to prioritize that special time. Discuss together how each of you would like to spend time together during the day and what changes you would need to make in your daily life to do so. This can change everything necessary for a relationship to remain meaningful.
