Love, as some understand it, is a combination of emotions. The emotion concerned set the quality and type depending upon our needs. This is typically referred to as the practical version of love, one that builds workable, functional, and opportunistic relationships with others. That’s all or there is more to love in relationships?
Romantic relationships are now not only the most intimate relationships among adults today; they are often the most vital ones as well. And it’s the only thing for many if there’s food on the table. Regardless of how perceptions of love have changed in recent times, understanding the part love plays in relationships is important. Continued ignorance is no longer an option if you don’t want to be labeled an ‘imperfect human’.
Love is too much
Love is knowing that you have someone to turn to no matter what. Being there for someone is what a relationship is. It is a commitment. If it is unconditional it makes you feel good inside. Then you can trust the people you love and feel comfortable around them. Love is a journey from a mere attraction to a strong and deep attachment to another person.
Does love bind you?
Love, in simple terms, creates a sense of unity. It joins you together. You feel that you are complete with a person, something that was missing before. Love creates a feeling of generosity and selflessness. Love makes us caring and compassionate people. Love gets its strength from gratitude. It is not possible to feel love without feeling gratitude, and feeling gratitude can take an ordinary relationship and transform it into love.
Is love alone enough?
Love is obviously the core value of a relationship, but love alone is not enough to keep a relationship healthy. Compatibility, commitment, communication, character, and cooperation all play a major role in a healthy relationship. Though without love, very few romantic relationships have any meaning when intimacy, passion, and commitment, the three essential ingredients are missing.
However, there are many other core values such as ‘honesty’. Honesty is the all-important ingredient of time-tested relationships in any setting, from family to friendship to pure romance. Honesty makes love trustworthy. It helps to inculcate a sense of security.
Go beyond attraction
Love is little more than a chemical reaction. It’s what you do to make that person happier. The transition from attraction to attachment actually goes beyond passion. We shouldn’t confuse attachment with love for our relationships to be meaningful. Attachment is about fear and dependency and has more to do with the love of self than the love of another. Love without attachment is the purest love because it isn’t about what others can give you but it is about what you can give others because you already have it.
Love Vs trust
The presence of love is an essential component of any successful relationship. Love is a combination of emotions, perceptions, and actions, and it often plays an important role in intimate romantic relationships. Trust too is very important in relationships as it helps increase understanding and commitment in relationships. Trust is the most important prerequisite in a relationship. It, in fact, paves the way for love to follow.
