Creative People Adapt Change Holistically

As life progresses, you will find that inevitable changes will occur. This includes personal changes in your own life as well as social changes that surround you or concern you. Creativity and change are closely related and even interdependent. We need creativity to deal with the changes brought about by life. Creativity shows us different approaches and responses to certain situations.

Different changes and the creative solutions to deal with them carry a certain amount of risk and may lead you to unchartered waters. You may feel anxious and restless. And there may be joy and excitement at the same time if you trust your instincts.

In some cases, these changes can occur rapidly over a short period of time. Going too novel and too fast can lead to distress and nervous breakdowns. There are certain limits to the ability to recover from sudden changes. These things take time. While we may feel strongly motivated and willing to accept specific changes, there are equally strong inhibitions against making the same changes. A balanced approach is needed.

Creative activity is a type of learning process where you are your own guru. There are personal changes that require plenty of creative solutions for everyone involved and their families to manage:

  1. Marriage is a change that requires some creativity. All sorts of adjustments are needed here, from where to live, money, family matters and more.

  2. Having children is another big change that many people have to deal with every day. The need for creativity is just as great here. Taking care of children requires real commitment. On the other hand, in addition to money, time and family issues, it also necessitates some adjustments in self-care.

  3. The sudden breakup is also a personal change that can be very difficult to deal with and requires a lot of creativity. During this time, it is often necessary not only to change something but also to re-evaluate your whole life. You are forced to reinvent yourself and reset priorities.

Creativity can be the key to overcoming these traumas. Self-invention is essential every day. Sometimes a small failure is enough to send many into a spiral of depression and despair. This is where true creativity makes you decisive. This will help you turn the situation in your favour by making bold decisions. Albert Einstein said: “Creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen and thinking what no one else has thought.”

If you remain vigilant, you will notice there arrive new opportunities with every impending change. If you lose your job, you can immediately think about realizing your long-cherished dream of starting your own business. It is entirely up to you whether you take appropriate actions or you play the victim.

As Sylvia Plath said, “The worst enemy of creativity is doubt.” We need to free our minds to be creative. Many great insights, discoveries and inventions have occurred because their creators used their creativity to find a solution.

Every experience in life changes us in some way. If we don’t accept these changes, we refuse our own being. These changes when brought about in creative ways make us wiser over time. Successful change is grounded in realism. Take calculated risks, innovate and adapt we must remain fully committed to change.
